Doggie Walk Bags’ “Dog Bag” Wins Best New Product at Luxury Pet Pavilion Show

The new dog waste bag holder allows pet parents to be prepared, fashionable, and responsible
LOS ANGELES – March 17, 2009 – Glamorizing the everyday dog waste bag, Doggie Walk Bags unveiled their new “Dog Bag” to rave reviews at the 2009 Luxury Pet Pavilion in Los Angeles, winning Best New Product.   The new bag, fashioned to look like a small designer handbag, cleverly conceals the company’s popular biodegradable waste bags until they are ready to be used, offering convenience and fashion to responsible pet parents across the country.
Doggie Walk Bags received the exclusive “Best New Product” trophy and a cash prize at the 2009 Luxury Pet Pavilion “Best of the Best” awards in Los Angeles.  The awards ceremony, hosted by Animal Attractions TV host Megan Blake and sponsored by PETaPOTTY/Skybark, distributes the best new product, best booth design and best dressed dog honors for the 2009 Luxury Pet Pavilion show.
The 4-inch Dog Bag looks and functions like any typical handbag but has an opening on the bottom through which the disposable waste bags are dispensed.  The waste bags, which come on rolls that fit perfectly inside the Dog Bag, are available in a variety of opaque colors and scents to disguise the contents within the bag.  Whether the Dog Bag is carried as a handbag or clipped to a leash, the dog waste bags are easily dispensed and fashioned to make scooping poop quick and effortless.  Plus, the biodegradable nature of the bags minimizes your pet’s carbon paw print and ensures a healthy planet for you and your pup.
“We never ceased to be amazed with the innovative and fashionable new pet products introduced at the Luxury Pet Pavilion,” said show founder Stephanie Ellis.  “This year Doggie Walk Bags featured their must-have Dog Bag, which not only creates responsible pet owners, but a healthier planet for all of us.  Our panel of pet product expert judges, named Dog Bags Best New Product for their functionality, design, and overall positive contribution to the pet industry.”

Rockin’ Doggie is Named Best Booth at 2009 Luxury Pet Pavilion

The cool dog jewelry and accessory company gives Luxury Pet Pavilion the true luxury feel

LOS ANGELES- March 11, 2009 – California based pet jewelry and accessory company Rockin’ Doggie swept top honors at the 2009 Luxury Pet Pavilion, being named Best Booth.  The cool and simple appeal of Rockin’ Doggie’s silver and gold collar ID tags and jewelry was communicated throughout their booth display, exemplifying the company’s dedication to hip and modern dogs nationwide.  Awarded by the Luxury Pet Pavilion’s panel of expert judges, Rockin’ Doggie was chosen from 140 booths for their creativity, ability to merchandise products, color scheme and overall professional appearance.

Taking center stage at the booth was Rockin’ Doggie’s 2009 line of Crest Charms designed for the pup princess or prince in your life.  Knowing that every imperial pooch needs their own coat of arms, the new, lead-free pewter tags are designed with vibrant colors, brilliant bling, and an array of themes to fit the personality of any dog.    Also on hand were Rockin Doggie’s signature sterling silver guitar pick tags fashioned with original icons with clever rock ’n’ roll references like “hound dog, “wild thing,” and “bad to the bone.”  These tags let dogs show off their wild side, while leaving adequate room (on the reverse side) for responsible pet owners to display identification info.   Always a favorite, the famous Rockin’ Doggie French Bulldog mascots were perfectly poised and happy to model the latest harnesses and collar adornments from their favorite accessory company.

“Of the 140 booths at this year’s Luxury Pet Pavilion, Rockin’ Doggie stood out from the rest with their simple, yet impactful design,” said Stephanie Ellis, founder of the Luxury Pet Pavilion.  “It’s through exhibitors like Rockin’ Doggie that we are able to communicate the luxury element of our unique show.”

Bobby Gorgeous Named “Best Dressed Dog” in United States

Puppy fashionista becomes Luxury Pet Pavilion Spokesdog

LOS ANGELES – March 18, 2009 – In a contest that would leave any panel of stylists speechless and without a negative critique, the Luxury Pet Pavilion rolled out the red carpet to give stylish pups a chance to show off the latest in doggie couture.   Known as a leading resource in pet products, trends, and fashion, the Luxury Pet Pavilion named “Bobby Gorgeous” America’s Best Dressed Dog for his in vogue style, fashionable accessories, and camera-ready smile.
Bobby Gorgeous, a five-year old, white Pomeranian, has been a fashionista since birth taking cues from his fashion mentor and best friend, Guylynn Gia.  When at first Bobby’s search for fashionable duds came up short, Guylynn stepped in as his personal designer to create suitable couture to compliment his natural good looks.   Luckily for the fashionable duo, the trend in puppy fashion grew in popularity and Bobby’s wardrobe expanded to allow him to dress for every occasion. Guylynn continued in her role as stylist, filling his closet with the trendiest of ensembles, including his signature look: a dress blazer and a 100% pima cotton collared shirt, paired with a vibrantly colored cravat and stunna shades.
A native of Honolulu, Bobby’s natural puppy talents and love for the spotlight landed him in Los Angeles where he now attends the hottest parties, commands the attention of a crowd, and brings a smile to the faces of those around him.  When he’s not modeling the latest puppy fashions, Bobby practices spinning and jumping through hoops, watches Animal Planet, and enjoys his favorite treat, a tiny cup of Pinkberry Yogurt.  While he owes his friendly and sweet demeanor (not to mention good looks) to his Hawaiian roots, Bobby now calls Los Angeles home where he lives with Guylynn and sister Sophie Gorgeous.
Bobby is no stranger to best dressed trophies.  In 2008, he won 4 Halloween costumes dressed as a peacock (a Guylynn orginial) and a hospital lookalike contest.   With his most recent accolade, being named Luxury Pet Pavilion’s Best Dressed Dog, Bobby accepts the role as mascot for the 2010 Luxury Pet Pavilion set to take place March 12-13 in Los Angeles and will model the latest fashions from One Lucky Dog Couture in ad campaigns leading up to the event.  Bobby will also model the exclusive “Sergeant Tucker Jacket” from One Lucky Dog Couture.  The jacket is made of a vintage style sturdy cotton fabric and is decorated with genuine vintage US Army medals, patches, pins and ribbons.  The jacket is frequently worn by dogs that visit US Army veteran’s hospitals to comfort injured army veterans.

Highlights from the Luxury Pet Pavilion in Los Angeles

Karen Lee Stevens
Santa Barbara Pet Examiner

As the nation’s premiere pet products showcase, the Luxury Pet Pavilion returned to Los Angeles on March 7 and 8 with a heart-pounding and head-turning exhibition at the Westin-Bonaventure Hotel.
More than a red-carpet event for the four-legged set, the show featured an awesome array of vendors and retailers from across the country, who were eager to show off their wares. And what a GINORMOUS collection of canine couture and accessories there was! Everything from FouFou Dog designer dogwear and hand-crafted crystal dog brushes and collars by Crystal Affair to gourmet dog treats by Want A Cookie (the official cookie of Prez. Obama’s forthcoming pooch) and luxury doggie bunkbeds by LazyBoneZZ.
Highlights from the two-day show included appearances by celebrity swimsuit designer and Ruff Houzen Animal Rescue founder Ashley Paige, “pawtograph” signing by Travis Brorsen and his Boxer Presley, winners of the CBS show, Greatest American Dog, author Arden Moore, How to Party with Your Pup, and dog trainer and author Kyra Sundance. The Best of the Best awards ceremony was MC’d by Megan Blake, actress, animal advocate and host of the show, Animal Attractions.
Stephanie Ellis, the founder and president of Luxury Pet Pavilion, firmly believes in giving back to the community and, with that in mind, she was thrilled to announce the return of Angel on a Leash as the event’s official charity. Angel on a Leash champions the use of therapy dogs in health care facilities, schools, rehabilitation, hospice, extended care, correctional facilities and crisis intervention. The non-profit organization also promotes the role of the human-animal bond as a way to enhance human health and a better quality of life.

Walking the Red Carpet for a Good Cause

LUXURY IN LOS ANGELES. While expenditures in the $43 billion pet industry has declined in recent months (thanks a lot, Wall Street!), there’s no reason why pet lovers can’t attend an event where they spend the day drooling over the latest in canine fashion and furniture. Case in point: the Luxury Pet Pavilion, the nation’s premiere pet products showcase, which returned to Los Angeles on March 7 and 8 with a heart-pounding and head-turning exhibition at the Westin-Bonaventure Hotel.

More than a red-carpet event for the four-legged set, the Luxury Pet Pavilion featured an awesome array of vendors and retailers from across the country, who were eager to show off their wares. By far the biggest canine crowd pleaser (and my personal favorite) was Bobby Gorgeous, a paparazzi-lovin’ Pomeranian, who was this year’s winner of the Best Dressed Dog contest. Work it, B!

Luxury Pet Pavilion Wraps Up Atlanta, Preps for L.A.

Pet Style News Oct 08 CoverHaving just wrapped its Atlanta trade show, the organizers of Luxury Pet Pavilion are already well into their planning for the next show, which will take place in Los Angeles March 7- 8, 2009, with pre-show events taking place on Friday, March 6.

“We have a lot of new things planned for the show,” said Stephanie Ellis, president of Luxury Pet Pavilion. “We’re going to be partnering with an L.A.-based pet charity for a celebrity fundraiser on the Friday before the show. All of the exhibitors will be invited to that too. We’re also going to be unveiling our exclusive Luxury Pet Pavilion experience booths where people will get to experience everything from luxury pet boutiques to custom pet bedrooms.”
The Atlanta show took place August 2-3 at Americasmart in the downtown area of the city. For this show, there was a strong focus on grooming and spa with its “Take Me Home” grooming contest, which featured 10 master groomers from all over the Southeast sprucing up shelter dogs from the Atlanta Humane Society.

Two pet boutique industry manufacturers distinguished themselves by winning awards for the best booth design at the trade show and the best product.

Cat Livin’, a cat product manufacturer owned by Jeremy and Angela Moser, won the prize for best booth design. The company’s setup at the show included a welcoming design reminiscent of a living space in a home, complete with carpet and wall decoration, along with a video presentation. The entire booth was coordinated with a theme of brown and green, two colors that are frequently seen together in the home furnishings market.

The best new product was the Doody Duffle, a surprisingly simple waste collection bag made of high-tech waterproof material that allows dog owners to easily scoop, bag and discard all without touching waste. Product inventor and Doody Duffle company owner Sylvia Carlson accepted the award at a ceremony held on the evening of August 2.

Cat Livin’ and Doody Duffle each received an American Express gift card for $500. Nancy Cribb from Furry Travelers, another company exhibiting at the event, won a raffle and also took home a $500 gift card.

Show organizers also held a “Best Dressed Dog” competition, and the winner was a dog named Magnolia, owned by the Davis family and dressed by Emma Rose Design.

Luxury Pet Pavilion has an ongoing charitable partnership with the official charity of the Westminster Kennel Club—Angel on a Leash. This organization provides therapy dogs to sick children and to people with disabilities across the country. Representing the charity at the event was David Frei, director of communications for the WKC.

“It’s a wonderful thing that our dogs do for us,” he said, remarking on the health benefits that can result from dog therapy.

Recent studies have shown a connection between dog therapy and lowered blood pressure, for example.

Frei said that it feels wonderful being part of Angel on a Leash, but “I’m just the guy on the end of the leash. The dogs are doing all the work.”

At the end of August, more than 30 manufacturers had already signed up to exhibit at the upcoming show in Los Angeles. There are 150 booths available in total, with several different pricing packages available.

“We didn’t want anyone to not be able to exhibit because of price,” Ellis said.

At the 2008 show in Los Angeles, there were 92 exhibitors.

In advance of every show, Ellis said, Luxury Pet Pavilion does a great deal of work to attract buyers.

“We e-mail blast once a week to retailers,” she said. “We do postcard mailings to more than17,000 stores in the U.S. and internationally. Our PR firm works year-round pitching stories.
