He will discuss anatomy and physiology; ingredients in pet grooming products; choosing appropriate shampoos and other skin enriching products; treating irritated, allergic and other problematic skin conditions; and, the care parameters as it pertains to the groomer and the veterinarian. About Dr. Michael C. Fleck:
Dr. Fleck earned a bachelor of sciences degree and degree in veterinary medicine from Michigan State University as well as a master’s degree in reproductive physiology from Western Michigan University. Dr. Fleck has practiced veterinary medicine primarily as a small animal practitioner for over thirty three years. He has owned and run veterinary practices in Michigan, Florida and Guam. He is also licensed to practice veterinary medicine in California. Dr. Fleck is a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), FVMA (Florida Veterinary Medical Association), MVMA (Michigan Veterinary Medical Association) and the CVMA (California Veterinary Medical Association). Currently, Dr. Fleck practices at the Animal Medical Center of Bradenton, Florida which he has owned and operated for the past twenty years.
With Dr. Fleck’s special interest in skin care, he became a licensed human facial skin specialist. He is believed to be the only licensed veterinarian and esthetician in the world. In 2005 Dr. Fleck started his company Epiderma Pet LLC which develops and designs pet skin care products and treatment programs under the trademark name Epi-Pet. Dr. Fleck lectures and presents seminars around the country primarily on the topic of skin care for companion pets.
