At the young age of five, Barbara's journey began in New Jersey with the love of fabrics, her cat Tinkerbell and fashion. By her late teens she sewed knit ensembles for wealthy women and one of a kind clothing at Suzy Creamcheese in the Houston Galleria. With passion for fashion and a size four body at 5'10", Barbara became a photography model at 17. Barbara found herself modeling in Paris, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio as a high fashion runway model for designers like Oleg Cassini and Daniel Hector as well as a print model for clients such as KSLX radio station, Foley's and the Hyatt Regency doing a variety of modeling projects from runway to commercials to print modeling.

By 25 she discovered a new passion Knitting. She went hog wild and knit her way to from Houston to NYC to attend Parson School of Design. This passion earned her recognition as "The Knitting Textile Designer of the Year Awardî Ralph Lauren soon hired her and though it may have stifled her creativity, it inspired her in a multitude of ways now foundational to Decadent Digs corporate structure. When she lost her biggest fan, her Mom, to Cancer her life took a turn and she founded Fibertales. Her signed and dated pictorial art sweaters are featured in the Absolut Vodka book under her maiden name Thulin as "Absolut Thulin." These award winning art piece sweaters were sold in Nordstromís Collections Department and high-end art galleries throughout the East Coast. Not ready for ìManufacturing ì Barbara pursued another facet of fashion as a freelance make up artist, stylist and costume designer. She beatified Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders, Casper Weinberger, Miss America, Country and rap music singers, Movie stars, political figures or important CEO's.

She met her husband, Stephen Joyce in 1998. Barbara continued freelancing for Arizonaís local magazines, national commercials and movies. Then another desire was fulfilled and she freelanced as Fairytale Brownies food stylist for 50 catalogs. During this period between 2001-2003 is when the love of fabric stirred an unquenchable fire of knowing she found her true calling. She designed her first pillows for her lover boy cat, Amadeus, to pamper and present him in her home. Decadent Digs was visualized. It was three years later when this seed germinated and took root. Decadent Digs launched. In December 2003, Barbara attended her first Farmers Market. That day ended her first line was picked up by her first retailer. Her dedication to love of pets and their owners needs has been the catalyst to the collection she continues to create and deliver. Barbara's clarity in her product standards has raised the bar in the pet industry. She holds on to the European Philosophy, ìIf it is worth doing it is worth doing well."
